It starts at the top for the Cowboys in 2020. Training Camp is just weeks old and it already has a different feel. Practice schedules are different, the quarterbacks are wearing red jerseys, and all player have their name plates on the back of their practice jerseys to help McCarthy get to know his players.

What McCarthy brings is leadership. The days of the Cowboys having puppets being controlled by the Jones’ are over. One of the glaring attributes of McCarthy is his ability to squeeze the best out of his quarterbacks.

In Green Bay, McCarthy worked with Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. Not a bad group. Before becoming a head coach, McCarthy was the quarterbacks coach for both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers.

McCarthy now has another talented quarterback room. There’s no actual competition for “QB1” as that belongs to Dak Prescott but having Andy Dalton behind him gives the insurance that any NFL team would covet. With having his primary focus working with Prescott entering year number five, expect this to make an immediate impact.
