Defense Will Shine Brighter Than the Offense

There has been a lot of conversation about the Cowboys offense in 2020. When the team decided to draft wide receiver CeeDee Lamb with the No. 17 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the focus was clear. Get quarterback Dak Prescott more weapons for this offense to explode.

However, this year is about the defense. After all, defense wins championships right? The addition of Aldon Smith and Everson Griffen opposite of Demarcus Lawrence will serve as the biggest additions of the Cowboys off-season. Defensive line pressure is everything in today’s game.

With pressure on the opposing quarterback, it makes everyone’s job easier. The secondary will have to cover wideouts for less time and bad throws equal turnovers. The Cowboys added Mike Nolan to be the defensive coordinator but even more importantly added Jim Tomsula to the defensive line coaching staff along with Al Harris to coach up the secondary.

It starts at the top. The Cowboys have the talent on the defensive side of the ball and it’s because of them Dallas will have ultimate success this season.
