Trevon Diggs, Cornerback

Let’s add another defensive back to this list of players to watch for the Cowboys. After the departure of cornerback Byron Jones to the Miami Dolphins in free agency, the Cowboys knew they needed to make a move. They were able to make that move in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Trevon Diggs was selected by the Cowboys with the No. 51 overall pick. He was not expected to be there with that pick, but Dallas certainly didn’t mind.

He is going to help beef up the secondary and could quickly become the Cowboys’ No. 1 corner. Diggs racked up 37 tackles, three interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and eight defended passes last season at Alabama.

Dallas got a steal with this pick and Diggs is going to be a huge part of the Cowboys both this season and long-term.
