The Dallas Cowboys recently completed what appeared to be a highly intriguing front-seven group after signing Everson Griffen. However, an injury to Gerald McCoy caused some adversity to the group.
Naturally, the Cowboys have been forced to adjust to losing McCoy for the entirety of the 2020 NFL season. During their practice on Tuesday, Dallas may have shown how they intend to do that.
According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys have been providing Trysten Hill, who was a second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, ‘every opportunity’ to earn an ‘expanded role.’
The initial thought by some when the Cowboys made additions to the defensive line was that Hill was potentially done in Dallas. That is no longer the case as the Cowboys have a genuine need for his services.
During his rookie season, Hill didn’t receive much playing time but he showed positive signs of potential on the field towards the end of the Cowboys’ schedule.
The 2020 season will be vital for Trysten Hill to show the Dallas Cowboys he should remain in the team’s long-term plans. The injury to Gerald McCoy will afford Hill the opportunity to do so and it’ll be up to him to make the most of it.
