2. Elliott Leads NFL in Rushing
Since entering the league in 2016, Ezekiel Elliott has been one of the top runners in the game. He led the league with both 322 carries and 1,631 yards as a rookie while adding 15 touchdowns.
Elliott led the league in rushing for the second time in 2018. Heading into 2020, he has a chance to do it once again during an even year.
In 2019, Elliott played in all 16 games. He carried the ball 301 times for 1,357 yards and 12 touchdowns. This was the third time in his career where he finished with at least 300 carries and 1,300 yards. Elliott has reaped the benefits of a dominant offensive line for four seasons. He finished fourth in the league in rushing yards last season finishing 183 yards behind Derrick Henry.
If Elliott leads the league in rushing this year, it will be the third time in just six years. It will be important for Elliott to have a strong season if the Cowboys want to take the next step as a team.
