The Dallas Cowboys were hammered by the Buffalo Bills by a score of 31-10 on Sunday afternoon, and afterward, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott acknowledged a major issue that his team has had this season: their performance away from home.

While Prescott and Co. are undefeated in Dallas, they are just 3-4 on the road, and the MVP candidate says that the Cowboys need to get things figured out.

“It’s a huge difference and, really, that’s what these next couple weeks are about — is figuring out that difference, and trying to close that gap,” Prescott said, via the Cowboys’ official YouTube account. “We want to come out and start how we do at home, and that’s just not been the case. We’ve got to find out what those answers are … we can’t be two different teams: winning at home against a good team last week and then come out here today and not get anything done in all three phases.”

Prescott struggled in the loss, going 21-for-34 with 134 yards and an interception. It represented the first time Prescott did not throw a touchdown pass since Week 1 and also the first time he threw a pick since Nov. 12.

On the season overall, Prescott has thrown for 3,639 yards, 28 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 68.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 104.

The 30-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Mississippi State, was selected by Dallas in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He was pressed into starting duty during his rookie campaign due to a preseason injury to Tony Romo. He has been the Cowboys’ starting signal-caller ever since.

Dak Prescott has had an up-and-down run in Dallas, but there is no doubting how terrific he has been for most of 2023.

The Cowboys saw their five-game winning streak snapped against the Bills as they dropped to 10-4 overall. They fell into second place in the NFC East as a result.

Dallas will remain on the road to take on the Miami Dolphins next weekend before facing the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders to close out the regular season.
