Denver Broncos: 3 Biggest Reasons Denver Lost in Week 3 vs. Ravens

USA TODAY Sports

Lack of Pressure on Joe Flacco

The Broncos should always be wreaking havoc with the pass rushers they possess. They came out of Week 3 with two sacks, but I feel like they should have had more.

The Ravens made it known that they weren’t going to let Von Miller single-handedly beat them. They constantly doubled-teamed him, chipping him with tight ends, or running backs. This is to be expected.

That means other guys need to produce off of that. That didn’t really happen, as for the majority of the game, Joe Flacco had a clean pocket to throw from.

Clean pocket and this Broncos defense should never be mentioned in the same sentence. Their rookie outside linebacker, Bradley Chubb had a sack early in the game, but was nonexistent after that.

I know Miller failed to do much of anything, but when he is having an off day, other guys have to create pressure in his place. They failed to do much of anything in Week 3.

In Week 4, if they plan to stop the Mahomes train (couldn’t think of anything better), they have to make it uncomfortable for him in the pocket. If not, they’ll be like the other teams who have faced the Chiefs, walking to the locker room in defeat.
