The Chicago Bears seem to have already made a decision about Justin Fields and what route they plan to go at the quarterback position moving forward.
In a recent segment on 670 The Score’s Mully & Haugh show, Brad Biggs, a seasoned Bears insider from the Chicago Tribune, made a bold proclamation regarding Fields. Biggs asserted that it is no longer a matter of if, but when, the Bears will trade Fields.
This sentiment was echoed by another Bears insider, Jeff Hughes of Da Bears Blog, who has a track record of accurate insights into the team’s dynamics. Hughes emphasized that he has been foreseeing the Bears’ departure from Fields for quite some time.
With speculation buzzing, Hughes didn’t just stop at predicting Fields’ departure; he also proposed a potential landing spot for the young quarterback: the Denver Broncos.
Hughes pointed out the allure of the Broncos’ situation, especially under the guidance of future Hall of Fame head coach Sean Payton. He suggested that Payton’s football wisdom could be a perfect match for Fields’ talent and potential.
“I keep hearing Atlanta but is the Zac Robinson offense a fit for him? Pittsburgh … are they moving on from (Kenny) Pickett? I kinda like Denver for him, and I think Sean is the right coach.”
The timing of this potential trade is expected to unfold in the coming weeks, according to Hughes. The Bears, under the leadership of general manager Ryan Poles, are poised to make their intentions clear in the near future.
As for the Broncos, with veteran quarterback Russell Wilson likely on his way out this offseason, they are in the market for a younger signal-caller. Justin Fields presents an intriguing option for Denver as they look to transition to a new era at the quarterback position.
