The 2024 NFL season is drawing closer quickly and the Denver Broncos are going to be an interesting team to watch. After making the bold decision to move on from quarterback Russell Wilson, the Broncos also ended up trading wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. They made quite a few roster moves this offseason, with the most intriguing being the addition of first-round quarterback Bo Nix.

Nix appears to have the best shot to win the starting quarterback job in Denver. Peyton Manning has been vocal about the young quarterback and the media has provided many glowing takes about him as well.

Now, there is another analyst that has made a strong take about the Broncos’ rookie quarterback.

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix Receives Strong Take From Analyst

Colin Cowherd, a renowned sports analyst, spoke out with his thoughts on the young quarterback. He had a little bit of a comparison to longtime NFL superstar Drew Brees.

“Sean Payton with Drew Brees worked because they’re both sort of old school…I think Bo Nix feels like that.”

Nix was widely viewed as the most NFL ready quarterback prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft class. Even with Caleb Williams going No. 1 overall, Nix appears to have the best NFL arm right off the bat.

During the 2023 college football season with the Oregon Ducks, Nix ended up completing a sizzling 77.4 percent of his pass attempts for 4,508 yards, 45 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also picked up 234 yards and another six touchdowns on the ground.

Those numbers were impressive, to say the very least. He made every NFL throw and displayed top-notch leadership ability. If he can translate his game to the professional level, the Denver Broncos will be set at quarterback for years to come.

One situation to watch for the Broncos as the season draws closer is the contract of wide receiver Courtland Sutton. The two sides have been unable to work something out. That has led to more trade rumors coming out of Denver.

With a young quarterback like Nix, the Broncos truly need to keep their No. 1 target. Losing him would be a big setback for Nix right off the bat.

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what the 2024 season has in store for the Broncos and Bo Nix. Hopefully, he’ll be able to make an impact right off the bat and prove that he can be the new franchise quarterback for the proud franchise.
