Doctor Gives Brutal Injury Outlook For Steelers’ Kenny Pickett

Kenny Pickett, Steelers

It has been a rough start to the 2023 NFL season for Kenny Pickett and the Pittsburgh Steelers. After receiving a ton of hype as a sleeper contender coming into the season, the Steelers have started off with a 2-2 record. What has been even more disappointing is how bad the team’s offense has looked.

Pickett was expected to put together a breakout season. He has been less than impressive so far.

Unfortunately, Pickett suffered a knee injury this week against the Houston Texans in a 30-6 loss. He was forced to leave the game and did not return. Now, fans can only wait and see what comes from the injury.

One sports medicine physician, Dr. Jesse Morse, took to Twitter to speak out on Pickett’s injury. The outlook he gave is extremely concerning.

Obviously, the Steelers can only hope that nothing has happened to Pickett’s MCL. If it is an MCL, the hope would be that it isn’t torn and is a much shorter-term injury.

In the loss to the Texans, things hadn’t gotten any better for Pickett on the field. He completed 15 of his 23 pass attempts for 114 yards, no touchdown, and an interception. Previously in three games, Pickett had completed just 59.6 percent of his pass attempts for 689 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Those numbers clearly aren’t going to get the job done for the Steelers. However, Pickett is also just 25 years old with plenty of time to develop and grow his game.

Expect to hear more updates about Kenny Pickett in the near future. All we can do is hope for a good update on the Steelers’ quarterback.
