Carson Wentz, Quarterback

Carson Wentz is obviously a very talented quarterback. There is no denying he is phenomenal at extending plays and has a real ability to torch the defense with it. However, he has struggled with both inconsistency and more importantly, injuries.

Wentz has yet to win a playoff game and there will be vocal detractors about any starter in such a situation. In fact, he has only thrown four postseason passes in his career. This season could be vital for him to solidify his long-term future of the Eagles by dispelling any potential questions that may arise about his inability to stay healthy.

This year, Wentz could be in for another big season. Although his injury history is a concern, he had a full offseason of rest and will be healthy to start the 2020 season. The Eagles also drafted a potential playmaker in Jalen Reagor. Additionally, Philadelphia’s veteran receivers will be healthy as well.

While Wentz could make a case to join the NFL’s elite this season, there is a chance things go wrong. Not having Brandon Brooks or Jason Peters on the offensive line raises reason for concern. These changes to the offensive line will not help an injury prone Wentz and if the unit struggles, it could spell trouble.
