The Philadelphia Eagles steamrolled their way through the NFC en route to a spot in Super Bowl 57 against the Kansas City Chiefs. While they fell short against their AFC counterparts, the team is ready to once again assert their dominance in 2023.

One of the teams that they will assuredly have to make their way through for another Super Bowl berth is the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers and Eagles are considered the cream of the crop in the NFC as many people are predicting they will be on a collision course for another NFC Championship Game matchup.

There is a rivalry blossoming here as the two teams will probably see a lot of each other in the coming years. Both franchises have built rosters for sustained success and should be contenders for years to come.

While making an appearance on Inside Training Camp Live, Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown spoke with James Palmer and Daniel Jeremiah. The rivalry with the 49ers was one of the topics discussed and Brown offered a candid response.

“I think it’s two really good organizations. One got a sour taste in their mouth, but I think (it’s) two really good organizations,” Brown said.

Of course, the 49ers are the team with a sour taste in their mouths after losing 31-7. San Francisco believes things would have gone differently had quarterback Brock Purdy not gotten injured in the game.

They will have a chance to prove that theory right as the Eagles and 49ers are set to face off in Week 13 of the regular season. Brown knows that he and his teammates will be in for a hard battle that day.

“I don’t think it’s any bad blood on our side, but we respect them,” he said. “Of course, they gonna come ready to play in [Week 13 on Dec. 3], that’s gonna be a hard battle. Best team wins.”

The 49ers will certainly be looking to exact some revenge in that game. While it won’t have the same stakes as the NFC Championship Game, the Eagles will have to be prepared to take the best shot from them as they will be looking to even the series up at one win apiece.

After that, a rubber match third game could very well come during the playoffs once again.
