The Philadelphia Eagles are entering a new era of football this season following the offseason moves to trade quarterback Carson Wentz and move on from head coach Doug Pederson. Now, their attention has shifted to the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft. One name to keep a close eye on could be South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn.

Many believe that the Eagles could focus on the offensive side of the ball with the No. 12 overall pick. However, adding some help in the secondary might be the biggest need.

One NFL scout spoke to NFL Analysis Network about the Eagles’ plans in the first round of the NFL Draft. He believes that Horn could very well end up being the pick.

“Philadelphia will have a tough decision to make at No. 12, but I keep hearing that they are very high on Jaycee Horn. They love the potential that he would bring to their secondary. Horn is a very good bet to be the pick for the Eagles.”

Horn has been rising up draft boards quickly over the last couple of weeks. The son of former NFL star wide receiver Joe Horn, Jaycee Horn is looking to create his own legacy. There is no question that he has superstar potential for the next level.

During the strange 2020 college football season due to COVID-19, Horn still put up solid numbers for the Gamecocks. He racked up 16 total tackles to go along with two interceptions and six defended passes. They weren’t huge numbers, but his game showed the ability to make big-time plays in the secondary.

Currently, the Eagles have Darius Slay as their top cornerback. Slay is a legitimate star, but the Eagles could use some help across from him. Jaycee Horn would be able to come in and immediately make a major difference.

It will be interesting to see where the Eagles choose to go with the No. 12 overall pick. If Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith is available, he would make a lot of sense to give Jalen Hurts a true No. 1 target. But, drafting a talent like Horn to improve the defense would be perfect for Philadelphia as well.

Expect to hear more rumors and news about the Eagles as the NFL Draft continues to draw closer. Horn is a name to watch and fans should be excited if they end up taking him.
