Eagles Must Bring Back Sleeper Key Offensive Piece

Jack Stoll, Eagles

Jack Stoll is the type of player who often goes unnoticed despite his crucial role in the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive strategy.

As the second-string tight end, Stoll primarily excelled as a blocker, and his impact became evident in the effectiveness of the Eagles’ 12 personnel formation (consisting of one running back and two tight ends).

While Philadelphia ranked 15th in the league in the usage of this personnel package, they stood at eighth in EPA (Expected Points Added) per play, according to the 33rd Team.

Throughout the season, Stoll accumulated just five catches and was targeted a mere eight times. However, he gained the respect of his teammates for his exceptional blocking abilities.

Dallas Goedert, a fellow tight end, praised Stoll’s dedication to the often underappreciated dirty work within the tight end position. Goedert noted Stoll’s significant contribution to the Eagles’ recent success in running the ball effectively, particularly in the past two weeks.

For the Eagles to regain their footing and return to a physical, run-oriented football style, they need to re-establish themselves as a team capable of running the ball effectively. This identity has been a cornerstone of their success with Jalen Hurts as the quarterback.

Re-signing Stoll would be a step in that direction, ensuring that the offense maintains its identity as a potent running team while building a passing attack around this foundation.
