Tight Ends

The tight end position is the strongest of the Eagles’ offense. Zach Ertz is a top three tight end in the NFL, behind Travis Kelce and George Kittle. Dallas Goedert has shown flashes of being above average, especially in the red zone. Wentz likes to throw to his tight ends and luckily, the Eagles have two good ones.

Ertz has been a machine for a long time now. In each of the last five years, he has been targeted at least 100 times, finished with. 75 or more catches, and 800 or more yards. In 2019, Ertz finished with 88 catches, which ranks third all-time on the Eagles’ single-season reception list.

Ertz is also first on that list thanks to 116 catches in 2018. This is also the most ever by a tight end in a single-season in league history. Goedert has nine touchdowns in two years in Philly. He was targeted 87 times last season.

The Eagles have two extremely capable options at tight end. Pederson likes to get both of his options involved early and often. They are matchup nightmares when running a route but also elite blockers in the run game. If there is one position on the Eagles’ roster that you do not have to worry about, it is their tight ends.
