Following a disappointing conclusion to the 2023 season, the Philadelphia Eagles are poised for a promising start to 2024.
Nick Korte, writing for Over The Cap, has revealed that the Eagles are in line to receive several compensatory picks in the upcoming NFL draft.
This compensation stems from the loss of key players to free agency, including Javon Hargrave, Isaac Seumalo, Andre Dillard, and T.J. Edwards.
According to Korte’s analysis, the Eagles are set to acquire a third-round pick and three fifth-round picks in the upcoming draft, providing a valuable opportunity to replenish their roster. Remarkably, if there were no limits, they would have a total of nine compensatory picks at their disposal.
Notably, several other teams across the league are also projected to receive compensatory picks for the 2024 draft. These teams include the San Francisco 49ers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills, and Los Angeles Rams, each set to receive various selections:
- San Francisco: One 3rd-round pick, one 5th-round pick, and two 6th-round picks.
- Jacksonville: One 3rd-round pick and one 6th-round pick.
- Buffalo: One 3rd-round pick.
- Los Angeles: One 5th-round pick and three 6th-round picks.
The NFL is expected to provide an official statement regarding these compensatory picks near the beginning of the free agency period.
As the Eagles look to bounce back and regain their momentum in the upcoming season, fans can anticipate that Howie Roseman and the team’s management will make the most of these valuable selections.
