Eagles Receive Concerning Health Status Of WR AJ Brown

The Philadelphia Eagles were able to get back on track in Week 11, heading on the road and defeating the Indianapolis Colts. It was a nice bounce-back victory after a rough showing against the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football to close out Week 10.

The Eagles will be facing another desperate team this week as they will host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football. The Packers’ season is hanging in the balance as one more loss could be the final nail in their coffin. Even with Aaron Rodgers dealing with a broken thumb, you can be sure that Green Bay will come ready to play after having the mini bye, as they played on Thursday Night Football in Week 11.

The Packers need all of the breaks that they can catch if they are going to make a run the rest of the season. Could they be receiving one this weekend against Philadelphia?

Star wide receiver A.J. Brown was absent from the Eagles’ practice on Thursday. He was listed as out with an illness. That is one of the tougher designations to figure out, as ‘illness’ is a broad term for the injury report.

There are some illnesses that Brown should be able to suit up and play through even if he is limited in practice. But, if the illness was bad enough that he was unable to practice, he may be closer to doubtful than probable or questionable for the game.

If Brown is unable to suit up, it would leave Jalen Hurts pretty short-handed in the pass-catching department. With tight end Dallas Goedert getting injured against the Commanders, it would leave DeVonta Smith as the clear-cut go-to option offensively without much support. Quez Watkins and Zach Pascal would fill in behind him.

While it would be tough to overcome the loss of Brown, at least the rest of the team is healthy. He was the only player listed on Philadelphia’s injury report as everyone else will be ready to go against Green Bay.
