As the NFL offseason is set to get underway, the Denver Broncos are going to be an interesting team to watch. To start things, the franchise needs to figure out what they’re going to do at the quarterback position. Russell Wilson seems to be all but gone after all the drama that surrounded him this season.

Looking at the options for the Broncos, there are a few intriguing routes they could choose to go.

One route would be going after a young quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft. Another option could be the trade market. Finally, they could opt to sign a veteran quarterback in NFL free agency.

ESPN has dropped a major prediction for what the Broncos are going to do at quarterback. They have Denver going out and signing impending Indianapolis Colts’ free agent quarterback Gardner Minshew, who is headed to the Pro Bowl this week.

“Minshew fits Payton’s offense well and has shown he can be a serviceable starter after leading the Colts to a nine-win season after Anthony Richardson (shoulder) went down. Minshew is younger than Jameis Winston and could be in Denver’s price range. The Broncos will be a cap-pinched team this offseason.”

During the 2023 season with the Colts, Minshew ended up completing 62.2 percent of his pass attempts for 3,305 yards, 15 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He also picked up 100 yards and three more scores on the ground.

Granted, this isn’t a move that would blow the minds of Broncos’ fans. However, he would be a serviceable bridge quarterback if Denver does go add a young quarterback in the NFL Draft.

Minshew showed the ability to lead in Indianapolis this season. That is a trait that the Broncos do need to find in whoever they add as their starter.

All of that being said, there are plenty of options that the Denver Broncos could choose from. They simply need to bring in a guy that can help them compete and play quality and consistent football.
