Trevor Lawrence, Tim Tebow, Jaguars, NFL Draft

The Jacksonville Jaguars unsurprisingly selected Clemson superstar quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. It was a move that changes everything about the future of the franchise and finally gives them a true franchise quarterback. However, the only question becomes, what kind of career with Lawrence end up having with his new team?

Will he live up to the potential and become the next superstar in the NFL? Could he end up disappointing the Jaguars and not developing into the player that many think he could become?

While the questions are going to be there and Lawrence will be under an immense amount of pressure, he has all of the talent in the world to become something special. He could be exactly what the Jaguars needed to be able to get back into contention.

ESPN has released their projections for Trevor Lawrence in his rookie season with the Jaguars. They are not glowing numbers, but they aren’t terrible either. In their projections, they have Lawrence completing 379 of his 598 pass attempts for 4,261 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions to go along with 288 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

Those numbers are not what many Jaguars fans are expecting. Like we already mentioned, the expectations and hype are sky high for the rookie quarterback.

We have Lawrence’s projections a bit higher on our end. Our projections have Lawrence completing 63 percent of his passes for 4,350 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. There isn’t a ton of difference between the predictions, but ours definitely shine better for the Jaguars and Lawrence.

It will be interesting to see how the young quarterback handles the hype and pressure in Jacksonville right off the bat. He has some good weapons in the offense and Urban Meyer is an excellent head coach. A lot of things are looking good for Trevor Lawrence and his ability to develop into the superstar that he is supposed to be.

Expect to see the Jaguars receive a ton of attention throughout the 2021 season. Lawrence being in town will drum up the excitement and put them back on the map after being a laughing stock over the last couple of seasons.
