ESPN shares predictions for Jalen Hurts in 2021 with the Eagles

Jalen Hurts is the new face of the franchise for the Philadelphia Eagles following the team’s decision to trade Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts. It’s a breath of fresh air for a franchise that struggled mightily last season. They also chose to move on from head coach Doug Pederson and brought in former Colts’ offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni to replace him in that role.

During his rookie season with the Eagles, Hurts showed signs of major talent. He ended up playing in 15 games, completing 52 percent of his pass attempts for 1,061 yards, six touchdowns, and four interceptions. Hurts also racked up 354 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

Granted, not all 15 of those appearances were starts for Hurts. In fact, he only played a big role in five of those games. Putting up the production he did was not bad at all.

ESPN has shared their projections for Jalen Hurts with the Eagles in 2021. They may not be what fans are hoping to see, but they are number predictions nonetheless. At this point in time, they have Hurts throwing for 3,817 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, while also picking up 685 yards and scoring six touchdowns on the ground.

At 22 years of age, Hurts will have a lot of pressure on his shoulders this season. Trading Wentz was an obvious move that was going to be made, but the future of the franchise now rests on Hurts. He has lived up to the hype throughout his entire career to this point and many believe he will do so again in 2021.

We have also made our predictions for Hurts with the Eagles this season. Our predictions have Hurts throwing for 4,100 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. The predictions are similar, except we have the second-year quarterback having a bit more success in his second year.

It will be interesting to see how the new-look Eagles play this season. Under new coaching and with new players leading the way, the fans will at least be able to enjoy not being stuck in the same mediocrity they have seen over the last couple of years.

Expect to see Jalen Hurts come in and compete hard for the Eagles. He may not end up leading them to the playoffs, but they have that potential and he could surprise some people.
