Are you ready for another offseason full of Aaron Rodgers trade rumors? We aren’t either, but they have already started. Once again, a trade between the Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos is being talked about by the national media.
No, this isn’t a report that the two sides will talk or that Rodgers wants out of Green Bay. At this point in time, neither one of those things is imminent. However, the speculation is beginning about what a potential trade could look like.
ESPN came out and suggested a crazy trade that would land Rodgers with the Broncos. It isn’t cheap at all, but it’s a move that would instantly make Denver a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
The Broncos will send their first- and second-round picks in 2022 and 2023 to the Packers while also adding tight end Albert Okwuegbunam, who will add depth as the Packers wait for Robert Tonyan to return from a torn ACL.
Wow. Talk about a big-time blockbuster offseason trade. It’s intriguing, to say the least, but once again, it is very unlikely that something like this could happen.
Over the last few weeks, all the talk out of Green Bay has been that the Packers want to keep Rodgers around and that will be their priority this offseason. Rodgers has also openly stated how much he has loved this season and how much he loves the Packers. A trade to the Broncos is not something that should be expected.
But, as we all know, the NFL is a business and crazier things have happened. If the Packers get bumped out of the playoffs sooner than they should, Rodgers may get frustrated. Could that lead to him considering a path out of Green Bay once again?
Looking at this trade idea, the Packers and Broncos would both likely be open to it. Green Bay would get four picks that would help them rebuild their roster around young quarterback Jordan Love. The Broncos would get a quarterback that would help them go all-in on winning a Super Bowl in the next couple of years.
Aaron Rodgers is very unlikely to get traded. We cannot say that enough in this article. But there’s also intriguing in looking at possible trades and this one is now out there.
