Teams that require a wide receiver this offseason should be able to address their needs in free agency. For the second consecutive year, there are some excellent players at the position that will be available to sign. The crown jewel of the bunch is Davante Adams of the Green Bay Packers and a team like the Las Vegas Raiders would love to steal him away.

Adams has cemented himself as arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL. He has put up some eye-popping stats in the last few seasons as the go-to target for Aaron Rodgers. Their chemistry has been outstanding, as there isn’t a quarterback/wide receiver duo that has back shoulder passes down quite like those two.

Adams is one of the best free agents that have been on the market in recent history. The Packers could place the franchise tag on him, but with the cap issues they are facing, they run a real risk of not being able to retain him.

If Green Bay allows him to hit the open market, he will field plenty of offers. Teams with a need at wide receiver and a ton of money to spend, such as the New York Jets or Indianapolis Colts, could pursue him aggressively.

While they have the money to spend, are the best landing spots for Adams? Over at ESPN, a recent article was put together about which teams would be the best fits for the top free agents available. The best fit, according to them, is the Las Vegas Raiders.

There is a lot to like about the Raiders as a fit for Adams. He has caught passes primarily in his career from Rodgers. Building chemistry with a new quarterback won’t be easy, so why not reunite with the quarterback that he played collegiately with at Fresno State?

Adams caught passes from Raiders’ starting quarterback Derek Carr while playing for the Bulldogs. That in itself should be enough to have Las Vegas on his radar as a free agent destination, but there are plenty of other draws to the franchise.

New head coach Josh McDaniels is someone that any wide receiver should want to play with. His ability to scheme players open for throws is something that would appeal to any pass catcher. The Raiders also need the position, for what is shaping up as a match made in heaven.

If Adams is unable to continue his partnership with Rodgers, the Raiders should be near the top of his free-agent wish list.
