Fantasy Football: 3 late-round running backs to consider drafting

Average draft position in ESPN leagues: Pick 154

Ever since the end of last season, it has been debated on what people should do with the 49ers backfield when it comes to fantasy football. Should you target Raheem Mostert? Or is Tevin Coleman the guy to own in the backfield still?

Seeing that Kyle Shanahan tends to divvy up the carries, it’s likely that both of them are going to have similar workloads next season. But given Coleman’s average draft position compared to Mostert’s, Coleman is a way better value in fantasy football. Despite his emergence last season, Mostert is a running back you should avoid in 2020.

In 2019, both Mostert and Coleman received 137 rushing attempts. Mostert averaged 5.6 yards per attempt compared to Coleman’s four yards per carry. Nevertheless, with Breida no longer in the picture, both Mostert and Coleman should see more touches in 2020. Also, Jeff Wilson and Jerick McKinnon could see some touches in San Francisco’s offense next season.
