Mecole Hardman
Average draft position in ESPN leagues: Pick 153
Throughout the past couple of seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs have boasted the most lethal offense in the NFL. Therefore, avid fantasy football junkies are doing everything they can to snag a piece of Kansas City’s offense — whether it be Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, or even rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
While all of those guys are going early in fantasy drafts, one late-round option to get a part of the Chiefs’ offense is Mecole Hardman. Similar to the other wide receivers that Mahomes slings the ball to, Hardman is known for his blazing speed. In his rookie campaign in 2019, Hardman averaged 20.7 yards per reception and 13.1 yards per target (both were No. 1 in the NFL). He would also produce a 146.6 quarterback rating when targeted (the highest mark among wide receivers).
The first-year wide receiver out of Georgia would also record six touchdowns on only 41 targets. His 41 targets were tied with guys like Ryan Griffin and Blake Jarwin. Given his effectiveness despite a lack of usage in 2019, Hardman is a prime breakout candidate in 2020. And considering where he’s currently going in fantasy drafts, he could be a player that helps people win leagues next season.
