In 2017, a presumably more healthy Gronkowski had eight touchdowns in 14 games. That’s also the only year in his last three where he had more than three touchdowns, though he only played eight games in 2016.
Tampa Bay has two other capable tight ends in O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate. But one of them could still be traded, which would open up more overall opportunities for Gronkowski.
Regardless, Gronkowski will go back to being a prominent red zone target for Brady. A fresh body after a year out puts him in line for double-digit scores, even if my own very early (and cautious) projection is not as optimistic.
