2. Jonathan Taylor
On the Taylor tangent, he only needed three seasons at Wisconsin to get to 6,174 rushing yards, good for sixth in FBS history. The back-to-back Doak Walker Award winner was also a workhorse, with at least 299 carries in all three seasons and more than 300 totes in his last two.
Taylor has some untapped potential as a pass catcher, and early last season there seemed to be an effort to expand his role in that regard. He wound up with five receiving touchdowns, but just 26 catches on the season. It’s worth wondering how an NFL offense might unlock Taylor as a dual threat.
Taylor and Mack may start out as a “1-1 punch”, with the work split that suggests. But it feels like it’ll only be a matter of time before the rookie shows himself as the superior talent.
