Fantasy Football: 5 must-draft rookies for the 2020 season

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Clyde Edwards-Helaire

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Clyde Edwards-Helaire is the rookie that everyone wants in fantasy football. Unlike some players, Edwards-Helaire went to the perfect situation in the 2020 NFL Draft, as he was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs with the No. 32 pick.

Just a season ago, Damien Williams led the Chiefs with just 498 rushing yards. Nevertheless, Kansas City — led by Patrick Mahomes — were able to secure their first Super Bowl victory since 1969. At the same time, they proved once again that an effective rushing attack isn’t necessary to win the Super Bowl.

Although that may be true, Edwards-Helaire figures to have a Brian Westbrook-esque role (who Andy Reid coached with the Philadelphia Eagles) with the Chiefs in his rookie season. In the event that he’s used in both facets of the offense — which is expected — then Edwards-Helaire could be the highest-scoring rookie in fantasy football in 2020.
