Matthew Stafford, Lions, Bears

3. Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions

Matthew Stafford is considered one of the top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL but can you completely trust him as your fantasy football quarterback in Week 1? The Lions finished 3-12-1 last season and Stafford was not on the field much because of a back injury.

Detroit does have weapons. Marvin Jones Jr. and Kenny Golladay are one of the top receiving duos in football. Second year tight end T.J. Hockenson will improve with Stafford back under center.

Stafford needs to be worked in slowly because of his lack of playing time last season and his opponent in Week 1. The Lions will open up with a divisional game against the Chicago Bears. This is a tough defense and one that likes to attack.

Stafford has put up big a tasty numbers throughout his career. He is a strong armed quarterback who likes to throw the ball around. Detroit will be behind in some games this season which means the ball will be in the air a lot. Tread lightly in Week 1 but Stafford is a capable option for 2020.
