Fantasy Football: 5 potential risky quarterback plays in Week 1

Joe Burrow, Bengals, NFL Draft, fantasy football

1. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

This is a classic case of wait and see. Burrow could turn into the next big thing at the quarterback position but let’s not enshrine him before his first game. Burrow will have to deal with Joey Bosa and strong cornerbacks in Los Angeles in his first career game.

Burrow was drafted first overall by Cincinnati after an incredible season at LSU. During fantasy drafts, some owners may still be thinking of the 60 touchdowns he threw on his way to a National Championship in 2019. This does not always transfer to the professional level.

The hype surrounding Burrow has made him an attractive option at quarterback for fantasy football teams but it would be wise to keep him on the bench until he breaks out.

The Bengals were the worst team in football last season. This led them to drafting what they hope will be their next franchise quarterback. Andy Dalton was never a huge fantasy option during his time in Cincinnati and Burrow could turn into one down the line. In Week 1, he will have to prove himself.
