1. Leonard Fournette, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
When Leonard Fournette signed with the Bucs, there was an immediate reaction assuming that he would turn into an elite option at running back in fantasy football. After two 1,000 yard seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Fournette will eventually take over but not quite in Week 1.
Fournette has had little practice time with the Bucs. Bruce Arians has said that Ronald Jones will enter the season as the starter. He will get most of the carries in Week 1. The Bucs also have LeSean McCoy in the backfield and is he likely to be featured mainly in passing situations.
Tampa Bay is expected to have an explosive offense with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Rob Gronkowski catching passes from Tom Brady. It could take some time for Fournette to work his way in.
Fournette is at the top of this list because of the overreaction. Once he signed with the Bucs, there was definitely some over drafting and strong feelings thinking that he would be a force right away. It would be hard to trust Fournette in his first game with a new team.
