4. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
On a per-game basis last year, Brees was QB8 last year (20.80 fantasy points per game). But he also missed five games with a thumb injury, he’s 41 years old and seems to have one foot out the door with a broadcasting job waiting for him when he retires.
Brees also has said he is willing to give up snaps to backup quarterback /gadget player Taysom Hill.
Brees will still have an enviable set of weapons around him (Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, Emmanuel Sanders), and a great offensive line to protect him. But with that upside comes downside we haven’t really seen yet, and making a bet on the upside of the future Hall of Famer is riskier than it has ever been in fantasy this year.
