Fantasy Football: 5 risky wide receiver plays for Week 4

2. Julian Edelman, New England Patriots

Julian Edelman had a career game in Week 2 with eight catches for 179 yards. The only problem is that game was sandwiched in between two performances where he combined for seven catches for 80 yards. The Patriots’ offense is not the same as when Tom Brady was under center.

The Patriots will be up against the Kansas City Chiefs this week. When you think of the Chiefs, defense does not come to mind but they are improved on that side of the ball. The Chiefs have allowed the second-fewest fantasy football points per game to wide receivers this season.

This will not be an easy matchup for Edelman, who is still viewed as the top receiver. He will be getting a lot of attention from the Chiefs’ secondary.

Edelman has always been an interesting fantasy football option for awhile now but it seems he will be declining this season. Proceed with caution when it comes to Edelman.
