Fantasy Football: 5 sleeper running backs plays in Week 5

J.K. Dobbins, Baltimore Ravens

This week, the Baltimore Ravens will be facing the Cincinnati Bengals. We all know this Ravens team greatest strength is their run game. Of course, last year, LaMar Jackson scored a rushing touchdown that included his infamous spin move on the way to the MVP award in Cincinnati.

The Cincinnati Bengals defense has improved as a whole on the year. Although they are on the bottom half of rush yards allowed per game, they rank 12th in fantasy football for opposing running backs. While LaMar Jackson does most of the heavy lifting himself in the run game, it is important to note that he missed practice today with a knee injury.

The Ravens have said the knee injury is minor and they expect him to suit up for Sunday’s game, but that may affect who is actually running the ball majority of the time. Mark Ingram has become boom or bust in fantasy football. If he doesn’t score a rushing touchdown, he does not produce. His backup, J.K. Dobbins is slowly starting to take the number 1 spot on the depth chart. I expect this week to be a potential breakout game for the rookie.

ESPN projects that Dobbins will record 7.25 points in this one. I predict that Dobbins will be splitting the carries with Ingram and will be on the receiving end of two rushing touchdowns while also catching a couple passes out of the backfield. I like to play Dobbins this week against the Bengals.
