3. James Robinson, Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars released Leonard Fournette recently and their backfield was a mystery heading into the first game of the season. The only certainties were that Gardner Minshew was going to be the quarterback and the team was going to be the worst in football.
Well, after a Week 1 victory, they silenced some critics, and definitely knocked some people out of their survivor pools.
The Jaguars upset the Indianapolis Colts thanks to a 19-20 day from Minshew with three touchdowns. If there was any question about the backfield, it was answered Sunday. James Robinson was the only running back to get a carry. He finished with 16 carries for 62 yards. He added one catch for 28 yards.
Devine Ozigbo and Ryquell Armstead were inactive and there is no timetable for their return. Chris Thompson was used sparingly in the receiving game.
There is a clear starter in Jacksonville and it is Robinson. If you do not trust a Jaguar running back, that’s a different story but Robinson is going to continue to get carries consistently for the Jaguars.
