With the NFL preseason coming into its final week, that means one thing. Fantasy Football is in full swing. Leagues around the world will be having their drafts in the coming days as everyone prepares for the regular season to kick off.

Fantasy Football managers are always looking for that edge that will put them on top. Is it a deep sleeper that no one else knows of? Or could there be a player that everyone is high on that you are wary of?

Bold moves are something that occurs constantly in the world of Fantasy Football and we will try our hand at some as well. Here are seven bold predictions for the 2021 season in Fantasy Football.

7. Irv Smith Jr. Is A Top-8 TE

The Minnesota Vikings have a very prolific passing offense now with Kirk Cousins at the helm. Justin Jefferson and Adam Theilen are a dynamic duo at wide receiver, garnering a lot of attention from opposing defenses. That will leave a lot of opportunity for Irv Smith Jr. in the middle of the field.

Smith is presumably taking over the starting job for Kyle Rudolph, which should result in some excellent production. He has made the most of his limited chances, but with an increase in his snap share, he can break out this season.

Smith will break into TE1 territory this season, finishing in the top-eight at the position.

6. Marquez Callaway Is Highest Scoring Saints WR

The New Orleans Saints are entering a new era, as Drew Brees retired this offseason. It will be the first time since 2005 they have a quarterback starting the season that isn’t Brees.

For Fantasy Football managers, that may be a good thing. Brees’ limited downfield passing put a lower ceiling on Saints receivers, but that will change this season with Jameis Winston presumably taking over as the starting quarterback.

With Michael Thomas sidelined to start the season, Marquez Callaway will cement himself as the Saints leading scorer at the position and finish inside the top-20 overall. He has shown the ability to make big plays in the preseason and that will carry over into the regular season.

5. Saquon Barkley Finishes As RB1

There were a lot of Fantasy Football managers who had their seasons derailed by the Saquon Barkley injury last season. Barkley injured his knee in Week 2 against the Chicago Bears, missing the remainder of the season.

New York has brought him along slowly this offseason, but he looks like he will be ready to go come Week 1. That is music to the ears of anyone who drafts Barkley, as he is in for a monster season.

With improved weapons around him, defenses will no longer be able to solely key in on him. That will result in more open space for him to navigate and he will turn in a season that results in being the No. 1 overall RB.

4. Sam Darnold Is Borderline QB1

The Carolina Panthers acquired Sam Darnold from the New York Jets this offseason. Things have not been great for Darnold thus far in his career, as he battled injuries, inconsistencies and the Jets doing nothing to help him develop.

With Carolina, he is in a much better position to succeed. They have a deep group of wide receivers, including his old Jets teammate, Robby Anderson. Christian McCaffrey is one of the best running backs in the NFL and they have a much better offensive line than the Jets did.

Darnold will finally put it all together and flirt with QB1 status this season. He will greatly outperform his preseason rankings, as he isn’t being drafted outside of the deepest leagues.

3. Antonio Brown Scores The Most For Buccaneers Wide Receivers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are loaded at the wide receiver position. They have three legitimate No. 1 receivers in Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown. It is an embarrassment of riches for Tom Brady to be throwing the ball to.

He will spread it around, but it will be Antonio Brown that ends up being the most productive when it comes to Fantasy Football. He will lead the team in touchdowns, which will boost his season scoring total with Godwin behind him and Evans being third.

2. Amon-Ra St. Brown Is Highest Scoring Rookie WR

When people think of the Detroit Lions, they are quick to dismiss them as they could be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season. But, savvy Fantasy Football managers know there is a lot of value to unearth here.

D’Andre Swift and T.J. Hockenson are household names in the Fantasy Football community, but people will quickly learn about Amon-Ra St. Brown as well.

St. Brown is looking at a pretty consistent role in a Lions’ passing game lacking a true No. 1 option. Veterans Tyrell Williams, who hasn’t played since 2019, and Breshad Perriman are the only players currently ahead of St. Brown on the depth chart.

Given the open depth chart, likely game script most weeks and having a veteran such as Jared Goff throwing him passes, St. Brown will be the highest-scoring rookie wide receiver this season.

1. Jalen Hurts Finishes In Bottom Half Of QB Scoring

There are widespread expectations when it comes to Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Jalen Hurts. Some people believe he will be an elite Fantasy Football quarterback given his rushing ability. Others think his ceiling will be limited and he won’t make it through the season as the starter.

Philadelphia’s coaching staff not committing to Hurts is concerning and is something to take into consideration. Hurts has elite rushing ability, but his passing game is not close to as dynamic. As a result, it will be a rocky season and he will fall short of expectations.

Hurts, who is being selected in the 8-10 range in most drafts, will fall well short of that draft position, finishing the season in the bottom half of Fantasy Football quarterbacks this season.
