Ben Roethlisberger 2020 Prediction
Last season, Ben Roethlisberger played just 28 snaps before being injured in Week 2 last year. So Week 1 was his only meaningful game, and he went 27-for-47 for 276 yards with an interception. It was a 33-3 loss to the New England Patriots, and he was fantasy QB28 for the week.
Roethlisberger has played all 16 games just four times in his career. The last three times he has done so, 2018, 2014, and 2013, he was QB3, QB5, and QB11 in fantasy respectively. Any full season projection has to have a missed game or two built-in. That leaves aside any loss of arm strength that will stick after major elbow surgery, which can’t be known until game action.
I’m willing to book Roethlisberger for close to 4,000 yards, with 25-30 touchdowns passes, about half as many interceptions, and maybe a rushing score or two. A favorable-looking schedule out of the gate for the Steelers (New York Giants-Week 1, Denver Broncos-Week 2, Houston Texans-Week 3, Tennessee Titans-Week 4) has to be noted.
