Tight Ends
Kyle Rudolph is not the pass catcher that he used to be. Minnesota does not have a tight end ranked in the top 20. Irv Smith Jr. is actually ranked three spots above Rudolph, who is No. 25 among tight ends.
There was a time where Rudolph was a premiere tight end. He was a tough minded player who could be a weapon within the offense. This is something that has slowed down over the years. He finished 2019 ranked 14th in fantasy points at the position.
Rudolph totaled just 39 catches for 367 yards and six touchdowns. Cousins has not used Rudolph as often as he used Jordan Reed during his time in Washington. Minnesota also has Smith Jr., who is a young tight end that they like. To this point, he has also been a non-factor within the offense. Smith Jr. finished with 36 catches for 311 yards and two touchdowns last season.
As a fantasy manager, there is no way to trust either tight end on Minnesota’s roster. They are good players who will block well and catch a touchdown every now and then, but that recipe does not work in fantasy.
