Fantasy Football outlook for wide receivers from the NFC East in 2020

The New York Giants come in into 2020 with the second-best overall WR core in the NFC East. They might not necessarily have a true WR1 on their team but that is fine when your offense runs through Saquon Barkley. The G-Men have three solid receivers that won’t be elite fantasy options but will be helpful lineup fill-ins during the year.

Sterling Sheperd comes in the most fantasy appealing WR for the Giants. He has yet to finally break-out and missing games has been an issue for him, with just playing 10 last year and 11 in 2017. He still has plenty of talent and is heavily involved in the offense when on the field, he received at least nine targets in six of the 10 games last year. Shepard is being drafted as the WR39 on ESPN right now which sounds about right. He is borderline WR3/4 target with upside if he can stay on the field.

Veteran Golden Tate worked out as a decent free agent pick for the Giants last season. After his four-game suspension to start the year he was a target machine from the slot with an average of 7.7 per game. Tate has always been a safe fantasy asset with a high-floor on a weekly basis. He might not be an exciting option but Tate is fine WR4/5 target in PPR.

Lastly for the Giants is sophomore Darius Slayton, who went from a complete unknown 5th round rookie to a big waiver wire pick-up for fantasy in 2019. Slayton posted a fine-looking stat line of 48-740-8 in 14 games with only starting nine of them. While his eight touchdowns might not be sustainable, he does have a nice rapport with the 2nd year QB Daniel Jones. Slayton should be viewed as a deeper league WR4/5 with a decent upside.
