The reasonable concerns surrounding the quarterback position for the New England Patriots were mitigated upon the signing of former All-Pro Cam Newton. While Newton becomes an intriguing option himself in fantasy football, he could also increase the value of some of New England’s offensive players next season.
Regardless of what your opinion of Newton is, he’s typically been a reliable quarterback to have in fantasy football. However, in the past two seasons, Newton has been sidelined for a total of 16 games due to shoulder and foot injuries.
But before Newton’s injury woes began in 2018, the electrifying quarterback had only missed three games in his previous seven seasons with the Carolina Panthers. Not to mention, in those seven seasons, he finished as QB3, QB4, QB3, QB17, QB1, QB18, and QB2 in fantasy football.
If the former NFL MVP is able to remain healthy with New England, then he could be in for a remarkable bounce-back season in 2020. At the same time, let’s take a look at some players that could be more valuable in fantasy football now that Newton is sporting a Patriots uniform.
