Julian Edelman
Average draft position in ESPN leagues: 85.7
From 2013-2019, if Tom Brady needed a crucial completion, he would typically look for No. 11. Julian Edelman would go from being a special teams contributor to being Brady’s go-to target in the offense. Even at 33 years old in 2019, Edelman notched 100 receptions for 1,117 yards and six touchdowns.
Seeing that Brady is no longer under center for the Patriots, some people are wary of Edelman in 2020. However, with Newton replacing Brady at quarterback, the sure-handed receiver should remain a key cog in New England’s offense next season. More importantly, he should remain a solid option in fantasy football.
Edelman has made a living in the NFL as a wide receiver that excels at moving the chains. Since becoming a starter in 2013, Edelman has converted 50+ first downs in five of the seven seasons. With Newton needing a reliable option in the passing game, Edelman’s value definitely receives a boost upon his arrival.
