Fantasy Football: Position-by-Position Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Picks for Week 12

TEs to start in Week 12

Browns’ Austin Hooper (vs. Jaguars): It looked like Austin Hooper was primed for a massive week in fantasy football in Week 11 against the Eagles. Sadly, due to another game for the Cleveland Browns in less-than-ideal weather, Hooper had just three receptions for 33 yards. Luckily for Hooper, he gets to play the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road, who are a team that has surrendered eight receiving touchdowns to TEs (tied for most in the NFL). Hooper is arguably the No. 1 option — maybe besides Jarvis Landry — for the Browns in the passing game with Odell Beckham Jr. out for the season.

Chargers’ Hunter Henry (vs. Bills): It appears that there could be a shootout in the works between the Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 12. As a result, the pass-catchers on both teams get a bump up in value this week, including Hunter Henry. Henry has scored a touchdown in back-to-back games and has seen 13 targets in that same span. I expect Henry to be heavily involved in the Chargers’ gameplay against a Buffalo defense that has allowed a league-worst 642 receiving yards to TEs this season.

Other TEs to consider in Week 12: Giants’ Evan Engram (vs. Bengals), Dolphins’ Mike Gesicki (vs. Jets), Seahawks’ Jacob Hollister (vs. Eagles)

TEs to sit in Week 12

Rams’ Tyler Higbee (vs. 49ers): In the same breathe as Henderson for the Rams, Tyler Higbee is also seeing inconsistent usage in the offense. Higbee has scored 78.6 fantasy points this season, with 28.4 of them coming in Week 2 against the Eagles. Since then, he’s failed to eclipse 10+ fantasy points in a single game or score another touchdown. There’s no reason to believe he’ll turn things around in Week 12 against a 49ers defense that is holding opposing TEs to a league-best 329 receiving yards.

Bears’ Jimmy Graham (vs. Packers): Aside from Allen Robinson — and even he’s hard to trust — it’s hard to trust anyone in Chicago’s offense for production in fantasy football. For people that needed 0.1 fantasy points from Jimmy Graham in Week 10, you would have lost your matchup. Graham has scored fewer than nine fantasy points in four out of his past five games. The once-dominant TE has an upcoming contest with the Packers, who have limited TEs to 34 receptions (tied for third-fewest in the NFL) and 9.16 fantasy points per game, which is also the third-fewest in the league.
