TEs to start in Week 14
Chargers’ Hunter Henry (vs. Falcons): The Chargers hit a brick wall on offense in Week 13, having to face a Belichick defense. Los Angeles ended up scoring zero points last week, with most of their players having their worst performance of the season. Among them, Hunter Henry had 1.5 fantasy points, which was his worst performance in fantasy football this season. Henry is poised to bounce back against the Falcons though, who are allowing 15.77 fantasy points (sixth-most in the NFL) per game and nine touchdowns (tied for second-most in the NFL) to TEs.
Jonnu Smith (if active vs. Jaguars): When Jonnu Smith has been able to play this season, he’s been a hot-and-cold option in fantasy football. Smith began the year with four straight games of scoring 11+ fantasy points. Sadly, injuries have caused him to have an inconsistent showing since Week 6. With that being said, if he returns from injury in Week 14, he could be in for a rematch with the Jaguars. The pass-catching TE notched a season-high 24.4 fantasy points against Jacksonville in Week 2, catching two touchdowns.
Other TEs to consider in Week 14: Texans’ Jordan Akins (vs. Bears), Cowboys’ Dalton Schultz (vs. Bengals), Steelers’ Eric Ebron (vs. Bills)
TEs to sit in Week 14
Rams’ Tyler Higbee (vs. Patriots): Finally, Tyler Higbee did something productive in the passing game for the Rams. In Week 13 versus the Cardinals, Higbee caught four passes for 24 yards and a touchdown. It was just his second game of the season where he scored double-digit fantasy points. While it was positive to see him get involved, Gerald Everett has also been involved at TE, garnering 17 targets in the past month compared to Higbee’s 18 targets in that span. Higbee’s wavering role coupled with his matchup against the Patriots, who have held opposing TEs to 9.02 fantasy points (fourth-fewest in the NFL) and one touchdown (tied for fewest in the NFL), Higbee is worth sitting in Week 14.
Cardinals’ Dan Arnold (vs. Giants): Some people may see that Dan Arnold exploded for the Cardinals in Week 13 versus the Rams. Arnold caught two touchdowns and scored 20.1 fantasy points in Arizona’s recent loss. However, both touchdown receptions were his only catches of the game and he now goes up against an underrated defense of the New York Giants. New York’s defense has limited opposing TEs to 10.72 fantasy points (ninth-fewest in the NFL) and two touchdowns (tied for second-fewest in the NFL). Also, Larry Fitzgerald is set to return for the Cardinals, which will likely limit Arnold’s opportunities moving forward.
