Fantasy Football: Position-by-Position Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Picks for Week 16

WRs to start in Week 16

Rams’ Robert Woods (vs. Seahawks): Yes, the Seahawks have been the best defense against WRs in the past four weeks, allowing only 20 points per week. However, those four games were against the Eagles with Carson Wentz, the New York Giants with Colt McCoy, the Jets with Sam Darnold, and Washington with Dwayne Haskins. Given that, I’m not shying away from playing the WRs of the Rams in Week 16. Even though they were relatively quiet against New York, Kupp and Woods are worth starting this week. Between the two, Woods has the higher upside due to his rushing usage and with him scoring five more touchdowns than Kupp.

Browns’ Jarvis Landry (vs. Jets): As previously mentioned, the Browns and Mayfield are rolling in recent weeks. One reason why Mayfield has seen more success in the passing game is due to him looking for Jarvis Landry more often. Landry has seen 38 targets in the past four weeks, which has equated to him being the ninth highest-scoring WR in fantasy football in that span. The reliable wideout is primed to have another fantastic outing against the Jets, who have surrendered 211 receptions (fourth-most in the NFL) and 16 touchdowns (tied for sixth-most in the NFL) to WRs.

Buccaneers’ Antonio Brown (vs. Lions): The WRs of the Buccaneers likely burned a ton of people in fantasy football in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings. However, the trio of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Antonio Brown all had notable performances in Week 15 versus the Atlanta Falcons. Altogether, all three of them combined for 50.9 fantasy points, with Brown leading the pack with 20.3 fantasy points. Brown could be on his way to another favorable matchup against the Lions, who have given up 2,725 yards (third-most in the NFL) and 41.59 fantasy points per game (fourth-most in the NFL) to WRs.

Other WRs to consider in Week 16: Lions’ Marvin Jones (vs. Buccaneers), Saints’ Emmanuel Sanders (vs. Vikings), Dolphins’ Devante Parker (if active vs. Raiders), Texans’ Brandin Cooks (vs. Bengals)

WRs to sit in Week 16

Jaguars’ DJ Chark (vs. Bears): Some people thought that the return of Gardner Minshew for the Jaguars would result in a reemergence of DJ Chark. On the contrary, it was more of the same for Chark, who finished with only 9.3 fantasy points against the Baltimore Ravens. Sadly for Chark and Jacksonville — who are now positioned to land the No. 1 draft pick — it doesn’t get much easier against the Bears, who have limited WRs to 11 touchdowns (tied for fifth-fewest in the NFL) and 32.14 fantasy points per game (fifth-fewest in the NFL).

Broncos’ Jerry Jeudy (vs. Chargers): There have been a handful of rookie WRs who have been reliable options in fantasy football. After showing promise earlier in the season, Jerry Jeudy has been worth releasing in re-draft leagues. In the past five games, Jeudy has accumulated a dismal 17.3 fantasy points. Unfortunately for the Alabama product, he’ll face the Los Angeles Chargers, who have held opposing WRs to a league-best 151 receptions and 32.85 fantasy points, which is the sixth-fewest in the NFL.
