In just three seasons at Wisconsin, Jonathan Taylor ran for 6,174 yards. That’s good for sixth in FBS history, and the Indianapolis Colts took him in the second round (41st overall) of April’s draft.

Taylor joins a Colts backfield with fairly defined roles for Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines. But Mack is heading into the final year of his contract, and head coach Frank Reich envisions he and Taylor being a one-two punch.

Taylor was a workhorse for the Badgers, with 299, 307 and 320 carries in his three seasons. But via Jim Ayello of the Indianapolis Star, Taylor is no stranger to splitting the workload.

As a freshman, Taylor ran 299 times but that somehow only represented about 49% of the workload. That year, the Badgers offense was more like a Quenton Nelson fever dream; they ran the ball more than 600 times in 14 games (about 43 attempts per game).  

His sophomore campaign, Badgers coaches increased Taylor’s cut of the carries to 54%. In his final year, that number climbed to its peak, at 55%. 

Taylor is sure to have a negative impact on Mack’s fantasy value this year. But what are the standalone fantasy prospects for the rookie out of Wisconsin this year?
