After playing in 12 game and starting 11 as a rookie in 2018, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen took a notable step forward in 2019. His completion percentage climbed six percent, to a little less awful 58.8 percent, while his interception rate dropped. Spurred by his production as a runner (510 yards, nine touchdowns), he finished as QB6 in fantasy last year.
The Bills signed wide receivers John Brown and Cole Beasley in free agency last offseason. This offseason they took it up a notch, acquiring Stefon Diggs from the Minnesota Vikings for multiple draft picks. So another step up in passing numbers seems likely this year for Allen. That would raise his fantasy ceiling, to go with a floor that’s boosted by his running ability.
Allen still needs a lot of polish as a passer. But continuity of the same offensive system and the addition of Diggs can only help entering his third season.
After a top-10 finish among quarterbacks last year, it’s a stretch to tab Allen as a breakout candidate this year. But what is his fantasy outlook for 2020?
