TEs to Start in Week 13

Buccaneers’ Cameron Brate (vs. Panthers): With O.J. Howard on injured reserve, Cameron Brate has no one taking snaps away from him. In a Buccaneers offense that loves to throw the ball, Brate is one of Winston’s favorite targets. Brate scored in his first game starting in Howard’s absence last week. This week he faces a Panthers team, that allows an average of 17.5 points per game to TEs this year (most in NFL).

Raiders’ Jared Cook (vs. Chiefs): With the Oakland Raiders trading Amari Cooper earlier this season, Jared Cook is one of the only weapons they have left. Cook has been a nice option at TE this season, being the fifth highest scoring TE this year. He faces the Kansas City Chiefs this week, which means tons of throwing. The Chiefs also have allowed 812 yards to TEs this year (most in NFL).

TEs to Sit in Week 13

Jets’ Chris Herndon (vs. Titans): Chris Herndon has quietly become one of the more consistent TEs in fantasy in recent weeks. Since Week 6, Herndon has scored 10 or more points four times. It’s hard to trust him every week though, especially with the less-than stellar QB play for the Jets this season. He gets the Titans this week, who are the only team who has yet to allow a touchdown to a TE this year.

Giants’ Evan Engram (vs. Bears): On the other New York team, I’m not liking anyone not named Saquon Barkley or Odell Beckham. Evan Engram is dealing with an injury right now, which makes starting him an even bigger risk. To make matters worse, he faces the Bears defense this week, who have allowed just 13.8 points to TEs in the past three weeks.
