RBs to Start in Week 16
Seahawks’ Chris Carson (vs. Chiefs): I like a few players on the Seattle Seahawks, including Chris Carson. The Seahawks game plan is to run the ball as much as possible and control the clock. Carson has gotten 15 or more carries in four out of his last five games. This week he gets the Chiefs, who have allowed 22 or more points to RBs in every game but two this season.
Browns’ Nick Chubb (vs. Bengals): Nick Chubb was on a tear before Week 15. Chubb scored 16 or more fantasy points in five straight games. In Week 15, he scored a mere 10 points against the Denver Broncos. Chubb should see himself back to putting up huge numbers against the Bengals in Week 16. The Bengals allow an average of 31 points per game to opposing RBs this season (the second-most in the NFL).
Colts’ Marlon Mack (vs. Giants): Marlon Mack seemed to get back on track in Week 15. Mack was on a bit of a skid after scoring 60.8 points in Weeks 7 and 8. In Weeks 10 through 14, Mack totaled just 46.9 points. In Week 15, he mustered up 25.9 points against an impressive Cowboys run defense. Now this week, he faces a struggling New York Giants run defense, who have allowed 100 yards rushing in six out of their last seven games.
Other RBs I Like: Bengals’ Joe Mixon (vs. Browns), Bears’ Tarik Cohen (vs. 49ers), Broncos’ Phillip Lindsay (vs. Raiders)
RBs to Sit in Week 16
Redskins’ Adrian Peterson (vs. Titans): It seems like Adrian Peterson has slowed down quite a bit from earlier this season. After rushing for 149 yards in Week 8—en route to a 26.6 point fantasy performance. Since then, he has failed to reach 100 yards rushing in any game and has only scored 10 or more points just twice. In Week 16 it doesn’t get any better with him facing the Tennessee Titans. The Titans have allowed a total of just 19.3 points in their last two games, which came against Leonard Fournette and Saquon Barkley.
Dolphins’ Kenyan Drake (vs. Jaguars): Kenyan Drake didn’t seem to garner any more touches after Frank Gore went down with an injury. First off, Gore has been one of the best RBs in the last decade or so and it’s sad if this is how his career ends. For Drake, he will likely continue to lose touches to Kalen Ballage. He also faces a tough Jacksonville Jaguars defense, who—besides their Week 14 collapse against the Titans—has allowed an average of just 20.5 points per game to opposing RBs (the fifth least in the NFL).
