RBs to Start in Week 5
Cardinals’ David Johnson (vs. 49ers): As a David Johnson owner, I’m just holding out hope that he will do something one of these weeks. That week, could be this week, as he faces a San Francisco 49ers defense that’s allowed the ninth most points to opposing RBs.
Jaguars’ T.J. Yeldon (vs. Chiefs): With Leonard Fournette out again, T.J. Yeldon is in for a bigger workload. This bodes very well for him, as he goes up against a porous Kansas City Chiefs defense that’s allowed the most points to RBs this year.
Panthers’ Christian McCaffrey (vs. Giants): Christian McCaffrey is probably my favorite start at RB this week. McCaffrey is coming off a bye week, but before that he had 184 yards on 28 carries in Week 3. This week, he faces a New York Giants defense that allows the sixth most points to RBs.
Other RBs I Like: Bengals’ Joe Mixon (vs. Dolphins) or Giovani Bernard (depends on who starts), 49ers’ Matt Brieda (vs. Cardinals), Packers’ Aaron Jones (vs. Lions)
RBs to Sit in Week 5
Vikings’ Dalvin Cook (vs. Eagles): Dalvin Cook is still easing his way back from injury. Cook will likely have another tough week, as the Minnesota Vikings will likely see more success through the air. The Eagles allow the fifth least amount of points to RBs this season.
Browns’ Carlos Hyde (vs. Ravens): Carlos Hyde has been a nice addition for the Cleveland Browns this year. Hyde has scored a touchdown in every game this season. I think he’ll struggle a bit against a Ravens defense, who allows the second least amount of points to RBs this season.
