QBs to Start in Week 8
Buccaneers’ Jameis Winston (vs. Bengals): Jameis Winston has become a solid fantasy quarterback, since replacing Ryan Fitzpatrick two weeks ago. Winston has put up 50.8 fantasy points in the last two weeks combined. He should continue his fantasy success against the Cincinnati Bengals who have allowed the third most passing yards in the NFL.
Bengals’ Andy Dalton (vs. Buccaneers): In a game that could see little to no defense played, Andy Dalton should be started. Dalton had his worst game of the season, last week against the Kansas City Chiefs. Look for Dalton to bounce back against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who have allowed the most passing touchdowns in the NFL.
Colts’ Andrew Luck (vs. Raiders): Andrew Luck is a fantasy owner’s dream right now. Even when he plays bad he’ll be given opportunities to keep throwing it. Luck has totaled 22 or more fantasy points in four straight weeks. With the lack of a decent running game, Luck averages 44 passing attempts a game. In Week 8, he faces an Oakland Raiders team that is a complete mess right now.
Other QBs I Like: Vikings’ Kirk Cousins (vs. Saints), Browns’ Baker Mayfield (vs. Steelers), Seahawks’ Russell Wilson (vs. Lions)
QBs to Sit in Week 8
Raiders’ Derek Carr (vs. Colts): There’s not much to like with what the Raiders are currently doing. Derek Carr has struggled this season, just like everyone else on the team. This week he lost his best WR in Amari Cooper to a trade, leaving him thin at offensive weapons. I’d avoid all Raiders players like they have a deadly disease until we see them show any signs of life.
Jets’ Sam Darnold (vs. Bears): Sam Darnold has had the type of season I expected from him. He has 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on the year. His issue in college was turning the ball over and bad decision-making. Darnold has carried that into his rookie year. This week he gets the Chicago Bears who, with Khalil Mack, have made it hard on opposing QBs this season.
