RBs to Start in Week 8
Broncos’ Phillip Lindsay (vs. Chiefs): Phillip Lindsay has been a nice find for the Denver Broncos. Lindsay, an undrafted RB, has been their best option in the run game. With Royce Freeman nursing an ankle injury, Lindsay could be in line for a bigger workload in Week 8. He faces the Chiefs who allow the second most points to opposing RBs.
Patriots’ James White (vs. Bills): James White is one of the most underrated RBs in the NFL. White has been one of the most consistent parts of the Patriots offense. With the injury to Michel, White will likely see an uptick of touches in the passing game. White squares off with the Buffalo Bills who have allowed the ninth most points to RBs this year.
Cardinals’ David Johnson (vs. 49ers): I know it’s getting frustrating playing David Johnson this year. He keeps getting favorable match ups though. The Arizona Cardinals fired their offensive coordinator in Mike McCoy and promoted Byron Leftwich to the position. Hopefully the change at coordinator allows Johnson to finally flourish this season.
Other RBs I Like: Seahawks’ Chris Carson (vs. Lions), Redskins’ Adrian Peterson (vs. Giants), Bengals’ Joe Mixon (vs. Buccaneers)
RBs to Sit in Week 8
Vikings’ Latavius Murray (vs. Saints): Latavius Murray has had two straight weeks of impressive performances. With Dalvin Cook sidelined, Murray has been asked to take the majority of the workload in the backfield. This week he could struggle to see much success. The New Orleans Saints have allowed the least amount of rushing yards (286) this season.
Jets’ Isaiah Crowell (vs. Bears): Isaiah Crowell continues to be a huge boom-or-bust RB in fantasy. Crowell has had three games where he had 19 or more fantasy points. The bad news is, he has also had four games where he has had seven or fewer points. I believe he has another forgetful week against the Bears who have yet to allow a rushing touchdown this season.
